Technical aspects of Digital Marketing and SEO and how to use them

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of increasing your outreach in the search engine result pages. It is further divided into two: On Page Optimization and Off Page Optimization. The former is the process of updating elements such as coding, images etc, whereas the latter is about acquiring back skills. The emergence of SEO has lead to heavy competition among different companies. Here are some on page SEO techniques which can be useful to you:

1. Page title: This is the title which appears as the first thing you see in a web page. It might be around 60 to 80 characters long. Here you have to ensure that you get your posts with H1 tags. If you cannot get it, it is advisable to get help from developers.

2. SEO Title: Google and many other search engines use the SEO title and display it as the search results. Google tends to show around 55 characters, so it is necessary to ensure that your title is around 60 characters long. When you hover your mouse over the browser, you can have a look at the SEO title.

Meta tags

1. Description: Although this is not related to direct SEO, it helps indirectly. This helps in increasing the Click Through Rate (CTR). This is one of the factors which determines the ranking in SEO and most of the keywords are displayed in bold format.

2. Keywords: This is the place where you can update targeting keywords. Here 3 to 4 keywords are advisable, despite few experts not caring much about meta keywords as it is given very less priority in SEO ranking factors.

3. Robots: They are another special HTML tag. Here you can tell robots to index your website page. So it is necessary to understand that you have to update with index to let the search engine do the work.

4. Author: This has minimum influence in search engine ranking. Here you can add the name of the author who has written the blog post. This can be applicable for blogs and article pages. Ignore this in case of e commerce websites.

5. Language: This is used to verify using what language the website content is written.

Site Accessibility

1. Navigation: Links placed on top of the body context of a web page. The presence of the navigation allows the visitors to refer the links of the home page. Here you can try adding some LSI keywords too.

2. Sitemap: HTML Sitemap is referred to as a user friendly sitemap. You can provide a list of web pages that be found easily in the index by a search engine crawler. This is a preferred format used for major search engines.

3. XML Sitemap: This is a place where you can draw an outline with the structures of your site. It is usually called as a search engine sitemap. This format is easily understood by search engines bots. If you visit an XML sitemap, you will end up seeing a bunch of codes. This is the best option if you have any issues on your website. If you have URLS more than 50k, it is okay to have more than one sitemap.
