World No Tobacco Day 2018: 6 celebrities who have quit smoking
Every year, on 31 May, WHO and partners observe World No Tobacco Day (WNTD), highlighting the health and other risks associated with tobacco use, and encouraging for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption.
Every year the bring a new message for people. In 2018, World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is focusing on "tobacco and heart disease". Cardiovascular diseases (CVD), including stroke, are the world’s leading causes of death, and tobacco use is the second leading cause of CVDs, after high blood pressure whereas the theme for World No Tobacco Day 2017 was "Tobacco – a threat to development."
Here is a list of Bollywood celebrities who have quit smoking cigarette and are setting the example.
1. Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan used to smoke 40 cigarettes a day but he decided to quit smoking because his son, daughter, mother and wife Kiran Rao started getting bothered and were constantly urging him to quit smoking.
2. Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor stopped smoking after taking a vow to quit smoking if his movie Barfi became a success.
3. Hrithik Roshan
When nothing worked for him, the actor could quit it after reading the book called “Easy Way To Stop Smoking” by Alan Carr.
4. Konkona Sen
Konkona Sen, who was a smoker, stopped it when she became pregnant.
5. Ajay Devgan
Ajay Devgan, stopped smoking after he fell ill. He decided to quit smoking for his family.
6. Saif Ali Khan
Saif Ali Khan quit smoking after a health fright. His smoking habit almost caused a heart attack since then he stopped smoking.
