Mariner 9 was manufactured by Jet Propulision Laboaratory in USA.It was operated by NASA and JPL it was the first artificial satellite successfully launched to orbit Mars ,the launch mass of mariner 9 was 997.9 kg,which carry the power of 500watts.The spacecraft was launched on May 30 1971 from earth which arrived inside the mars orbit on Nov 14 1971 .Mariner 9 met more than it objectives ,it has covered 85% of mars surface by transmiting 7329 images the images of mars small moons,deimos evidence of wind,water,fogs and more.It also revealed the image of Olympus Mon the largest volcano in solar system.Mariner 9 was deactivated on Oct 27 1972.
