A Whale Flies in Air, Beluga Airbus Insight!
Airbus giant new Beluga XL, nicknamed 'whale of the sky' after the name of the Beluga fish. It’s a cargo aircraft, which has a whale's face painted on it. The 'flying whale' made it’s first public appearance at Toulouse, France.
The plane is 19 metres tall and is equivalent to 51 tonnes of cargo. Two Rolls-Royce trent 700 Turbofan engines have been used to power the aircraft. The aircraft will now undergo a 10 month flying test to get the approval. If things go as planned, it will be made available for use next year. The company plans to build 5 more similar cargo aircraft by 2023.
