Across LOC in J &K It has been a matter of serious concern that there has been continuing and increasing infiltration by terrorists. Terrorist attacks on 11 and 18 September 2016 in Punch and Uri respectively. Nearly 10 days after the Uri attack that caused life of 18 jawans, India carried out surgical strikes in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), resulting into heavy casualties on terrorists and those protecting them i.e. their handlers and guides. The commandos were airdropped across three kilometres at the LoC and from there they entered in to the Pakistan .
The Operation began around 12.30 am on Wednesday. According to reports, paratroopers from Special Forces were involved. According to sources, Indian commandos entered across the Line of Control to conduct the 'surgical strikes'. The strikes were carried out in Bhimber, Hotspring, Kel & Lipa parts of Pak. All the Terror launch pads were destroyed. In all, 38 terrorists and 2 soldiers from Pakistan were killed in this surgical strikes. Those killed included terrorists, their guides and their handlers with the help of almost 20 infiltration attempts.
Finally the great mission ended at 4.30 am.
